PHOENIX -- Mother Nature is expected to put on her own Fourth of July fireworks show in the Valley on Wednesday.

Charlotte Dewey, a Phoenix meteorologist with the National Weather Service, said Valley residents can expect thunder, lightning and rainfall. It would mark the first real monsoon to hit of the summer.

About a quarter-inch of rain should drop on the Phoenix area, she said.
