WASHINGTON (AP) - The U.S. Justice Department reports progress in settlement talks over a lawsuit by a House committee to get records involving the bungled gun-tracking program known as Operation Fast and Furious.

In a filing Tuesday, the department proposed postponing next week's court hearing because of the progress in talks with the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. The department said committee lawyers agreed.

Judge Amy Berman Jackson rescheduled the hearing to April 24.

The Justice Department said that the parties in the case believe that "further talks may be fruitful."

Next week's hearing was on the Justice Department's motion to dismiss the lawsuit. Fast and Furious was a Phoenix-based operation designed to track purchases by suspected low-level buyers on behalf of gun-smuggling kingpins, but agents lost track of about 1,400 guns.

The diffence between Bush's gun walking
and Obama's fast and furious is that Bush's gunrunner used transmitters to track the guns..Obama just told the gun shop owners to let the strawbuyers buy and walk.

    Yep
For those who don't get the implications, here it is on the spoon . . . Bush ended the operation when he discovered that it was unsuccesful and not so smart. Under Obama, the operation rekindled with DIFFERENT INTENT. It amounts to swindling Arizona and the US under the guise of security.

Holder has committed no crime - haven't you noticed that everything that happens on both sides is just politics - has nothing to do with democracy or liberty or who's right or who's wrong - just vote the party line and go along with those on your side of the fence - no one stands up for, or has the guts to speak up for what's right - like lemmings they just go along. For once we had a man the other day who refused to vote the party line and did what he knew was the right thing - Chief Justice John G. Roberts, Jr.

Diane, you are all over the board
First of all what evidence is available shows a lot was done wrong under this Administration and instead of cooperating now he's hiding behind executive privilege. Now if you want to talk about party lines, yes we saw more than a dozen Democrats cross party lines and vote in favor of contempt. Your piece about Roberts is a whole different beast.
