What’s it like being a veteran receiving VA care?

So you are a young patriotic American and you enlist in the military because you want to give back to your country.
You’re sent to a combat zone somewhere in the world where you’re seriously injured in a firefight. You’re sent home for the medical care that a veteran deserves. But the country that you fought for, that you sacrificed for, turns its back on you.
The VA hospital has rehabilitation facilities but you can’t get an appointment. Your benefit checks are held up for months. They lose your papers.
