A Valley group is putting its own twist on the phrase, “A little fresh air will do you some good.”
Phoenix-based Tigermountain Foundation looks to unify local communities by transforming an used space into a garden. While the environmental benefits — particularly fresh fruits and vegetables — are a plus, the group said it wants its gardens to be a place where the community can connect.
The organization has helped numerous people get back on their feet, including those that were homeless or incarcerated, and works with about 1,200 children annually. It also enlists more than 3,000 volunteers.
