Tuesday is "National Dog Day" and this is a great story with which to celebrate it.
Rosko the Siberian husky was missing after evading a gate that typically remains locked.
Any lost dog can cause an owner anguish, but for Bakersfield, Calif.-resident Steve Rivera, the dog was more than just a beloved pet, The Huffington Post reported.
Rivera's son, Mark, is currently serving in Afghanistan and Rosko actually belongs to him.
Cue Adam Combs, a 10-year Navy veteran. He found Rosco and noticed on social media the dog was lost. Combs reunited Rivera and Rosco.
"It's just a miracle. I didn't think we were going to see him again. I really didn't," a relieved Rivera [said].
Combs said he was glad to help another military family.
