No one ever wants to disappoint their parents but what about the Founding Fathers? A recent poll showed that a majority of Americans think the Founding Fathers would be disappointed with America.
According to NBC, a poll released by Gallup showed that 71 percent of Americans think the Founding Fathers would be disappointed in the way the Constitution is being followed today and the current state of the country.
Only 27 percent of people said the Founding Fathers would be pleased with how the country has turned out over the years.
Despite the disappointment, 85 percent of Americans surveyed said they are "extremely" or "very proud" to be an American.
In 2001, only 46 percent shared the idea that Americans today have disappointed the founding fathers.
The survey was taken randomly between June 1-4 and June 20-24 over the phone. In total, more than 3,500 adults from all 50 states and the District of Colombia participated in this survey.
