Using drones on Americans in America

And so it begins.
We have gone from targeting terrorists in faraway lands with drone strikes to the use of drones to capture (and/or kill?) an American accused of crimes on U.S. soil.
Admittedly, the story as of now is that drones are only being used to find Mr. Christopher Dorner, but is it a stretch to envision a world where police/government can hit a button and eliminate a "bad guy" with no due process?
It's a slippery slope.
