Challenger anniversary: Dangers of space travel can never be forgotten

Was it really 27 years ago today that the space shuttle Challenger exploded?
I can remember walking past a TV showing those plumes of smoke going in different directions and trying to figure out what I was seeing.
In moments, we went from thinking of space travel being as routine as an airplane flight to being reminded just how dangerous it is, and continues to be.
