'Biggest Loser' to welcome teenage competitors
For 13 seasons, Americans have tuned in to the "Biggest Loser" to watch nearly 20 overweight adults attempt to cook off hundreds of pounds of body fat.
While season 14 will still feature the same premise, it will also introduce three teenage contestants, according to people.com.
The three teenagers, ranging in age from 13 to 16, all said different stressful incidents in life -- a move, a divorce, etc. -- led them to use food as a safety outlet. The children will mainly train from home, not a separate location as the adult contestants do.
It is estimated that one-third of American children are overweight or obese.
Do you think this is a good idea? Will this raise awareness for childhood obesity, or will it simply paint these kids as targets when they return to daily life?
